Empowering Climate Action through the Global Collaboration Village
At the 2024 Planetary Health Summit and 6th Annual Meeting, hosted by new Village Partner Sunway University, the Global Collaboration Village’s Climate Tipping Points Hubhighlighted its potential to transform science to action. Tailored to distill complex environmental data into actionable insights, the Hub played a critical role in the meeting’s mission to craft science for action. It facilitated a clear understanding of pivotal climate data, with 96% of attendees stating, via post-experience survey, that they gained new insights or deepening their knowledge, and 82% acknowledging its efficacy in addressing climate misconceptions.
The presence of the Crown Prince of Pahang and other key stakeholders underscored the Hub’s appeal to a broad audience, linking dignitaries and decision-makers with crucial environmental knowledge. This pivotal participation highlights the Hub’s significance in empowering informed climate action and reflects the Village’s commitment to making pivotal climate conversations accessible to all, extending far beyond the traditional forum events.
This event marked the first use of the Global Collaboration Village outside a World Economic Forum event, showing progress towards the Forum’s goal of broadening access to global insights and crucial discussions. The Village allows participants from around the globe to engage and contribute to the mission of improving the state of the world, emphasizing inclusivity and valuing diverse perspectives.
